🏆 Here’s the current national top three:

3️⃣ In third place: the Convent of Renacavata, in the countryside near Camerino in the Marche region, where the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin was founded almost 800 years ago. The complex is in need of restoration work.

2️⃣ In second place: the Rock Caves of Verzino, at the foot of the Sila mountains, bear witness to a history spanning thousands of years, dating back to prehistoric times. The site needs improvements to accessibility and enhancement.

1️⃣ In first place: the Lame of Puglia, natural ravines that are characteristic of the karst landscape of central Puglia. They protect fragile ecosystems now threatened by neglect and urban development. Vote to help safeguard their biodiversity and cultural heritage, enriched by historic towers and traditional masserie (farmhouses).

FAI (@fondoambiente) and the Josef & Anni Albers F

FAI (@fondoambiente) and the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation present “Josef Albers: Meditations” at Villa e Collezione Panza in Varese, from April 9, 2026 to January 10, 2027. The exhibition features a selection of twenty-nine works by the German artist, including several masterpieces that have rarely been shown to the public. These works belong to the Variant/Adobe and Homage to the Square series and come from important public and private collections in Europe and the United States.

@fondoambiente presents "Carlo Mattioli. Textures"

@fondoambiente presents "Carlo Mattioli. Textures", an exhibition curated by the Fondazione Carlo Mattioli in collaboration with the Olivetti Archives, at the @negozioolivetti in Venice.

On view until April 26, 2026.

This exhibition marks a return to Venice for Carlo Mattioli (1911–1994). In 1979, he showed a group of works right here at the Olivetti Showroom in Piazza San Marco in a small exhibition titled Portraits for a Little Girl.
From that moment remains a photograph taken by Giorgio Soavi: Mattioli standing in the doorway of the showroom, holding his red-haired granddaughter. The image later became one of his most celebrated paintings, now housed at the Uffizi Galleries in Florence.

That little girl is now Anna Zaniboni Mattioli, an art curator and director of the foundation dedicated to preserving the artist’s legacy - and it is her idea that inspired this exhibition.
A story that weaves together art, memory, Venice, Olivetti, and today, FAI.

For some of us, there is an intimate connection wi

For some of us, there is an intimate connection with works of art.

@villanecchicampiglio in Milan, built by Piero Portaluppi in the 1930s, is home to an extraordinary collection of artworks and objects.

Among the collections donated to FAI and displayed inside the villa, the one belonging to Claudia Gian Ferrari stands out. The collector shared a special, deeply personal bond with her artworks, and when she chose to donate them to FAI, she set one condition: that she could spend a few moments alone with them. For her, La amante morta (The Dead Lover) by Arturo Martini was an old friend.

The collection of sculpture, painting, and graphic works she bequeathed to the foundation is perfectly in harmony with Villa Necchi, reflecting the same historical period as the villa’s construction.

Carrà, Casorati, de Chirico, Morandi, Sironi, and Severini are just some of the artists represented - figures closely linked to early 20th-century art, particularly the Novecento movement, which sought a return to order and promoted a renewed interest in primitivism and classical tradition.

Starting Friday, December 5th, @fondoambiente will open Case Montana to the public, after a long and dedicated restoration project.

This historic rural building, which has overlooked the Kolymbethra Valley since the 18th century, has been restored, enhanced, and made accessible to visitors of the @giardinodellakolymbethra - a site entrusted to FAI by the Valley of the Temples Regional Park since 1999.

A traditional farmhouse from the Agrigento countryside: simple and humble, yet precious - a vivid and unmissable testament to the rural culture that shaped and cultivated this unique landscape for centuries.

Inside the @castellodellamanta, in the province of

Inside the @castellodellamanta, in the province of Cuneo, there is a fresco painted by an unknown artist.
It adorns the walls of the presbytery in the castle’s church and depicts the Passion of Christ. Created around 1420, the scenes unfold in a continuous narrative, with no breaks between one episode and the next.

What immediately stands out is the attention to the fashion of the time, to botanical details, to the psychological depth and expressive intensity of the characters, as well as to the architecture, which seems to echo the battlements and towers of the 15th century.

But who is the artist? Could it be the mysterious Master of Manta, author of the frescoes in the Baronial Hall? No—although there are similarities, the storyteller behind these scenes was likely one of his collaborators.

✨ At @palazzomoronibergamo, there are two rooms

✨ At @palazzomoronibergamo, there are two rooms that can transport you to the far East.
They are the Chinese boudoir and the Turkish room: a living proof of how popular exotic-themed décor once was in Lombardy.

The first is a small 19th-century gem where every detail seems to evoke China: from the ceiling depicting the zodiac, to the frieze with imaginative landscapes, to the furniture inspired by the Asian world. The room and its furnishings are an example of chinoiserie - European-made objects that reinterpret Oriental motifs, blending them with Baroque, Rococo, and Gothic styles.

The Turkish room, which has undergone more transformations and was reinstalled by FAI, features pastel-colored ceiling panels with multicolored decorative elements, while the walls display exotic scenes and animals. Some of them look rather curious - at the time, most artists had never seen tigers, zebras, or monkeys in real life and had to rely on travelers’ descriptions of those distant lands.

Casa e Collezione Laura in Ospedaletti was donated by Luigi Anton and his wife Renata Salesi, two passionate art collectors.

Anton, an expert antiquarian, lived in this residence from 1953, and over time it became a symbol of the couple’s love for culture. Visiting this place means admiring artworks of different origins, eras, and styles.

These objects converse beautifully with one another in a harmonious and intentional arrangement that tells both the story of art and the memories of the home’s owners.

📍At @poderelovara in Punta Mesco (Levanto), an olive grove stretches across 2,500 square meters of terraced land overlooking the sea of the Cinque Terre.

📍At the @boscodisanfrancesco in Assisi (Perugia), 64 hectares of lush vegetation surround The Third Paradise by artist Michelangelo Pistoletto — rows of olive trees arranged in a double infinity symbol representing peaceful coexistence between humans and nature.

📍@baia_di_ieranto(Naples) preserves an ancient agricultural tradition of citrus cultivation and terraced olive groves.

📍@abbaziadicerrate (Lecce) lies amid olive groves, fruit trees, and cultivated fields. Once a Byzantine monastery, it later became a traditional Apulian farmstead.

📍At @villacavicianafai in Gradoli (Viterbo), FAI’s first productive agricultural estate, 35 hectares of silvery olive trees surround an oil mill and a winery.

🫒 At both the Wood of San Francesco and Villa Caviciana, the olives are pressed into fine extra virgin olive oils — available in FAI shops. Every purchase helps support FAI’s mission to protect Italy’s natural and cultural heritage!

The charm of Casa Carbone lies in its rich collection of objects, layered over time, that reflect the taste and personality of its former owners. The heart of the house is the central hall, from which a series of welcoming rooms open out, each furnished with period pieces.

Look up and you’ll see 19th-century tempera paintings on the ceilings, celebrating Ligurian themes, while the floors showcase Riviera tradition with mosaics and elegant floral or geometric patterns.

On the occasion of the 19th International Architec

On the occasion of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, the FAI - Negozio Olivetti in Piazza San Marco, Venice, is hosting “Formafantasma. The Shape of Things to Come.”

Through a series of objects, videos, and 3D animations, the exhibition explores the environmental impact of the technology sector from different perspectives, highlighting the role of design as a tool for transformation and awareness.

Curated by Bartolomeo Pietromarchi, the show focuses on the furniture pieces created by the designer-architect-artist duo Formafantasma, crafted from recycled parts of obsolete electronic machinery. These objects take on new functions and new forms—while bringing attention to the pressing, yet little-discussed issue of technological waste.

The Loggia Durini, built in 1793 by Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini, is the scenic heart of the splendid @villadelbalbianello, overlooking Lake Como. From here, your gaze sweeps far into the distance: to the south, the wild Gulf of Diana; to the north, the romantic Gulf of Venus.

A place suspended in time, made even more captivating by the lush Ficus Repens that embraces its arches. The loggia also reflects the soul of its last owner, Guido Monzino: an tireless explorer and traveler, who had a wind rose inlaid into the floor to recall his expeditions across the African deserts, the glaciers of Greenland, Mount Everest, and many other faraway lands.

Today, the villa preserves within its rooms the memories of Monzino’s adventures - a true meeting point of cultures, art, and nature.

@fondoambiente just opened Casino Mollo to the public! A 17th-century hunting lodge in the Sila National Park, Casino Mollo was donated to FAI by the Mollo family in 2016.

Casino Mollo will welcome visitors with new spaces and hospitality services at @@igigantidellasila. This public opening marks the first step of an ambitious restoration and enhancement project to be completed in 2027.

🙏 Special thanks to the Municipality of Spezzano della Sila and the Sila National Park, which owns the I Giganti Reserve, for their constant and valuable collaboration, and to the Calabria Region for supporting the restoration and enhancement of Casino Mollo.
