#ItaliaMiPiaci and news from FAI Properties

7 December 2020

Following the success of the last Spring Campaign, a new weekly series of online material is being released under the title #ItaliaMiPiaci (#ItalyILoveYou) to keep our audience informed and entertained with stories from FAI’s properties, researchers, architects and property managers.

The weekly releases will include various sections such as Behind the scenes, Garden tales, The first time at… , Before and after,  A tea with…,  as well as Live Instagram visits to entertain us this Winter while properties are once again closed due to the ongoing pandemic.

This year, more than ever, we have been desperate to travel and visit places that are close to our hearts.

As FAI Executive Vice President, Marco Magnifico has said, ‘The heart works miracles, and when our hearts beat passionately, the object of our passion fills in our minds day and night. For that someone or something we go to the ends of the earth and perform miracles.

#ItaliaMiPiaci takes inspiration from the beauty of FAI properties, and leads us to the places we dream of because… we adore Italy!

If you speak Italian and would like to enjoy this incredible wealth of online material, you can subscribe to the #ItaliaMiPiaci newsletter at here.

News from the properties

During the summer, properties with open spaces have had excellent attendance. One of them is the Giganti della Sila in the Sila National Park in the Calabria region. This forest with over 60 examples of larch pines and maples planted in the seventeenth century, saw an increase in visitors by 34% compared to 2019.

An exciting programme of events was organized in the properties, including over 200 extra evening openings, welcoming over 20,000 people to a great variety of activities. Visitors also enjoyed new digital material which was especially developed due to the safety protocols: online texts, podcasts and videos can now be downloaded directly onto smartphones thanks to the creation of dedicated webpages.

Unfortunately, at the beginning of November Properties had closed again until further notice in accordance with the Italian Health Authorities’ directions. However, all the FAI staff is ready to welcome you back in total safety as soon as it is possible.
