FAI – Italian Heritage Trust is a UK registered charity which supports the work of the Italian Foundation FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano. FAI was established in 1975 using the National Trust as a model, with the aim of protecting the invaluable heritage of Italy. Today, it is the leading cultural organization in the country and takes care of over 70 special places which it acquires by donation or bequest, restores them and opens them to the public to offer a variety of experiences; it also involves the public in national educational campaigns to foster awareness and appreciation of Italy’s heritage, built and natural.
