As for all of us, these times have been challenging on many different levels for FAI UK. Here is some important news from our Chairman and Board of Trustees.
Being unable to travel to Italy with our members to visit FAI properties or having the opportunity to see you at events in London is what we have missed the most this year. It is no secret that the lack of activities has resulted in a difficult economic situation and given the current status of the pandemic, it is impossible to predict if and when next year’s travels to Italy will resume. As a result, for this coming year, we are sad to have to announce the departure of Carolina Valmarana who has for the past four years managed the charity with enthusiasm and poise contributing to its initial development and the creation of our loyal and generous membership base. We hope that once events and travel resume, she may be able to work with us again with the same enthusiasm.
We are also sorry to announce the resignation of Vice Chairman, Gaia Servadio. FAI UK was launched under Gaia’s leadership, her cultural expertise and extensive networking have been invaluable and were the real engine behind the small but ambitious fledgling FAI UK.
The Board of Trustees wishes them both the very best in their future endeavours and trust that they will continue to stay close to FAI UK and FAI. We are proud to have been on this journey with them both.
We will, in the meantime, in the absence of physical visits, do our best to take you virtually to FAI properties during a hopefully lighter and happier 2021!
