The wonders of the Salone dei Savoia at Castello di Masino

The incredible discoveries at the Castello di Masino, near Turin, date back to the seventeenth century.

Recently, the loan of one of the major portraits housed in the Savoy Hall, offered the opportunity to investigate what had been covered by plaster for centuries. What emerged, little by little, was an incredible discovery: under the walls of this imposing Hall, there are frescoes dating back to 1680, which are now being restored. Extraordinarily scenic landscapes having as their subject the Teathrum Sabaudiae.
